            The Conclusion

The Life Fitness E3 Connect is the middle of the road Life Fitness elliptical in terms of base and stability, and top of the line residential Life Fitness console. The smooth quiet feel gives the user a comfortable low impact cardiovascular workout. The Life Fitness “whisper stride” technology (maintenance free ball bearings), which reduces the amount of friction on the unit, in essence making for a relatively silent rotation of the pedals. Life Fitness includes cushioned foot pedals as well as a multi grip ergonomic handlebar design to fit multiple users for additional comfort during exercising.

An often-unnoticed benefit of the Life E3 is the low step up height, which allows for a lower ceiling height restriction compared to other elliptical models.

The connect console is also a nice upgrade from the more basic “go” option. The connect console is Bluetooth enabled, allowing the user to link data to apps such as the LFconnect, MyFitnessPal, AppleHealth and Jawbone, among other available apps. Unlike the go console, the Connect console offers a total of 16 workouts to go alongside the option of 12 custom workouts (compared to just 2 from the go), as well as 4 user profiles settings, compared to 2 from the go.

Although the unit is constructed well and has a heavier weight capacity (400lb max user), the stride length is limited to 20″; compared to the E5 (a step up), which offers an on-the-fly varied stride length between 18″-24″. The E3 also comes with a decent warranty which covers the frame for lifetime, the parts for 5 years, the console for 3 years, and one year of labor. Overall, I would recommend the Life Fitness E3 Connect.
